announced the signing of collective bargaining agreement for 1997, giving its 246 unionised workers a 2.9 percent wage hike.

BIU president Derrick Burgess told The Royal Gazette the agreement was ratified earlier this summer. It covers staff working in sales and service, network management, outside plant, and premises and material management.

Mr. Burgess and BTC chief executive officier, Lorraine Lyle, signed the deal on Tuesday.
