gold chain, and a wallet containing an undisclosed quantity of cash were stolen from a Warehouse Lane, Pembroke home in the early hours of Thursday morning. The lone occupant discovered the theft upon awakening around 7 a.m.

Someone stole a public address system from the unsecured trunk of a car parked in the City Hall parking lot between 7.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

And sometime between February 5 and 12 a four-foot RCA DSS satellite dish was stolen from outside the Robin Hood on Richmond Road, Pembroke.

In another incident, two suspects are being sought by Police after a car stereo system was stolen from M&M International on Church Street.

LONGTAIL SPOTTED ALS Longtail spotted Bermuda is expected to experience some early summer weather.

Government Conservation Officer David Wingate this week spotted a longtail at Castle Harbour islands. Longtails, which come every year after winter ends, are normally first sighted in small numbers later in the month or in early March.

But Dr. Wingate yesterday said: "They are coming in earlier every year.'' He noted that longtails were arriving about a week earlier than they did in the 1960s.

This, he said, may be partially attributed to global warming.

DELAYS STALL MOVES ED Delays stall move Last minute delays at the refurbished Tynes Bay House on Palmetto Road had postponed the return of the Government Child Development Office to that location.

Temporarily at the Emporium building for the past eight months, the staff are back in Devonshire after having the building fumigated yesterday.

The office will be open on Monday, but the telephone system is not expected to be fully operational until mid-week.
