Man admits handling revolver

A man who admitted handling a gun faces jail when he comes back to Supreme Court tomorrow.Kofi Dill, 32, admitted yesterday to handling a Rexio RJ Series .38 Calibre Special revolver on or about December 22, 2010.The charges were brought after a loaded firearm was recovered by police on December 22, 2010 in the Government Gate area of Pembroke. No information about the case was given by prosecutor Cindy Clarke, but she is due to outline the facts during the sentencing hearing tomorrow.Dill, from Pembroke, maintained his not guilty plea to a second charge of handling a .38 calibre bullet. Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves agreed to the prosecutor’s request for that charge to lie on file.He remanded Dill into custody until he is sentenced.Dill was charged jointly with a woman, Thayja Simons, 22, who pleaded not guilty at an earlier court hearing.Ms Simons, from Sandys, was not required to speak during yesterday’s hearing. Ms Clarke asked that she be bailed until her case comes back before the court for mention tomorrow.The judge agreed, and gave Ms Simons $5,000 bail.
