Police are urging the public to be especially vigilant in securing their vehicles as the holiday season nears.

On Thursday thieves made off with a host of valuables from a car on Reid Street.

The owner of the car told officers that between 6.45 and 8.15 p.m. someone stole a laptop computer, a Sony digital camera, two CD's, two pairs of sunglasses and a black backpack from her car.
