Computer, cameras stolen

A thief ransacked a Southampton home stealing hundreds of dollars in electronics and jewellery.Sometime between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, the complainant said they left their home in Whale Bay, Southampton. When they returned home, the complainant found that someone had entered their house.Taken from the residence was an IBM laptop computer in a carry case, a Sony Digital Camera, an Olympus Digital Camera, a Trio 750 PDA, a Louis Vuitton handbag, a set of Tiffany cufflinks, numerous pieces of jewellery, assorted coins and an undisclosed amount of money. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

A thief ransacked a Southampton home stealing hundreds of dollars in electronics and jewellery.

Sometime between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, the complainant said they left their home in Whale Bay, Southampton. When they returned home, the complainant found that someone had entered their house.

Taken from the residence was an IBM laptop computer in a carry case, a Sony Digital Camera, an Olympus Digital Camera, a Trio 750 PDA, a Louis Vuitton handbag, a set of Tiffany cufflinks, numerous pieces of jewellery, assorted coins and an undisclosed amount of money. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Over the Cup Match holiday there were 16 stolen vehicles, 16 breaking and enterings, 46 collisions with 10 resulting in injury and 10 persons arrested for impaired driving.

In one incident, a cyclist travelling east at 11.10 a.m. Monday morning on Front Street was seen wobbling from side to side by a mobile Police patrol. When the man was stopped by the officers, they noticed he shelled of alcohol, his eyes were glazed and appeared unsteady on his feet.

He was arrested and taken to the Hamilton Police Station where he was detained.
