Pre-Cup Match spending was expected to jump by more than six percent, according to the amount of Bermuda dollar notes and coins in circulation.

The Bermuda Monetary Authority said yesterday that the amount of money in circulation had increased 6.37 percent over the same period last year to $120.3 million.

Last year the total amount of Bermuda Dollar notes and coin in circulation was $113.1 million.

Cup Match and Christmas are traditionally periods when the figures for notes and coin in circulation rise dramatically, the BMA said.
