A Smith's man was charged yesterday with causing grievous bodily harm to another man through drunk driving.
Ashley Redmond, 40, is alleged to have injured Sylvan Dill on Reid Street in Hamilton on May 11.
He did not have to enter a plea to charges of causing GBH while impaired and driving with excess alcohol because the matter must be dealt with by the Supreme Court.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted him $5,000 bail and told him to come back to court on September 10 for another hearing.
