Bank staff clear overgrown trail
Staff of the Bank of Butterfield's Asset Management Department spent their Sunday clearing out an overgrown trail for the Bermuda Audubon Society, saving the nature charity thousands of dollars in the process.
"We're very grateful to Butterfield Asset Management for their help," said Karen Border, the Bermuda Audubon Society's secretary. "The group achieved a tremendous amount of work in just a few hours, saving us thousands of dollars on hiring contractors."
The Butterfield staffers descended on the Bermuda Audubon Society's Stokes Point Nature Reserve in St. George's Parish armed with loppers, mattocks and weed wrenches. They reopened an overgrown woodland trail and collected several bags full of bottles and broken glass in the vicinity of Bartram's Pond, which was once used as a dumping ground.
