Tavern into a house -- but the restaurant is not shutting down.

Owner Bruno Fiocca said the application in principle was protection for the future and he had no intention of closing the Hamilton Parish restaurant.

The planning application is for change of use for the Walsingham Lane premises to a detached house.

The house would include a swimming pool, garage, pool house and boathouse.
