Roads will be closed during a five-mile road race.

The start line is near TCD on North Street at 9 a.m. and runs through Union Street, east on Victoria Street and down King Street.

From there the race will continue west along Front Street and on to Pitt's Bay Road, west on St. John's Road, east on to North Shore through Black Watch Pass.

Once on Marsh Folly Road the runners will travel south down Cedar Avenue turning onto Victoria Street and will finish the race at Union square.

At 11.30 a.m. all of the Island's unions will begin marching, led by the Bermuda Regiment Band, after the 9.30 a.m. prizegiving and congratulatory speeches from the race.

More than 1,000 people will start at Union square and travel down Union Street onto Victoria street, and then south on Court Street.

Once on Front Street the marchers will travel west until turning onto Queen Street, then travel east on Church Street and north on Cedar Avenue before following Marsh Folly Road and Dutton Avenue to the finish in Bernard Park.

Participants are expected to be finishing the march around noon on Monday and the Labour Day festivities are expected to begin shortly after that.

Union Street between Dundonald Street South and Victoria Street will be closed between 7.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. while Union Street between North and Dundonald Streets will be closed between 8.45 a.m. and 9.15 a.m.

Burnaby Street between Reid and Front Streets will be closed to traffic as required between 7.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
