The contestants for Miss Teen Bermuda 2008 were unveiled yesterday – and this year they will all have their wardrobe supplied by Gibbons Company.

This year there are eight contestants vying for the title and they are: Sandys South, Sierra Reid; Sandys North, Jasmine Caisey; Southampton, Deneisha Hayward; Warwick, Diamond Hill; Paget, Dalisa Johnson; Pembroke, Shardre Steede; Smith's, Alyssa Rose and St. George's, Astoria Smith.

They will compete for the title of Miss Teen Bermuda 2008 and the competition will be based on the girls' developed social skills. They will compete before a panel of judges displaying dance, poetry, song and other talents to the best of their ability.

Producer/director Terry Smith of Tee'l Productions said: "This year we are proud to have our official sponsor Gibbon's Company who will be outfitting the girls and also this year, for the first time we will be introducing a live red carpet effect which will include interviewing and other media opportunities where the ladies will be showcased."

Miss Teen Bermuda is now in its eighth year. The contestants usually range in age from 13 to 17. This year's youngest competitor is 15 years old and the oldest 17 years old.

This is the second year that the winner will be sent to St. Kitts to compete in the 29th Annual Miss Teen Caribbean.

The current Miss Teen Bermuda 2007, Alexa Lightborne placed third runner-up at that competition.
