Oasis overpowered Beach Bums to win the BEST one-pitch softball tournament over the weekend.

Four teams took part in the one-day event at Kilgore Field.Both Oasis and Beach Bums went into the final game with a 2-0-1 record.

Both Oasis and Beach Bums went into the final game with a 2-0-1 record. But powerful batting by David Sousa and John Burcher saw Oasis score a convincing 10-2 win.

The Golden Glove award went to Antonio Clarke and the MVP to John Burcher, both of Oasis.

Games were played in a round-robin format with a home run competition occurring inbetween. Brian Schieber of Beach Bums proved to be the home run king by hitting all five pitches out of the park. His team went on to win the derby with a total of nine homers.

The Slobs came in second with six, followed by Oasis with five and Arctic with one.

In the consolation round, the Slobs took third place by defeating Arctic 6-4.

Andrew Soares and Joe Coady led the Slobs to victory with home runs. Coady picked up the MVP award and William Rowse of Arctic won the Golden Glove award.
