Long-time sponsors of the Bermuda Snooker League, Gosling Brothers, have issued a challenge to the Island's players in the form of a $1,000 travel
The offer has been dubbed the Smirnoff 100 Challenge and takes in both league and Gosling Trophy Knock-out play, with the only requirement being that the feat must be witnessed and attested by both team captains.
Meanwhile, in Second Division play this week Sandys Sports Club continued to rule the roost as they trounced Old Colony Club III 5-1.
Still it was Colony's Paul Bailie who snatched player-of-the-week honours with a stunning 67-32 victory over Sandys' team captain Zane DeSilva.
Other matches in the division saw Queen's Club II down Spanish Point Boat Club 4-2 and Sandys Boat Club defeat Police by a similar 4-2 margin.
Action among the top flight saw perennial favourites and defending champions National Sports Club get off to a slow start against Queens Club I as Kyle Thompson and Paul Charleton both lost their games.
But Nationals rebounded by sweeping the remaining games to move level with Sandys Sports Club at the top of the standings.
Sandys lost their lone position at the head after a 3-3 tie with Old Colony Club I.
League members are reminded that entry forms for the Island Construction Three-Man Tournament are now available from the bartender at Old Colony Club.
The draw for the first round will be made at Old Colony Club on Friday, November 2 at 7.30 p.m. Matches are to be played at Sandys Boat Club or Sandys Sports Club and an entry fee of $50 is required.
