International Championships at BAA Gym.
Included were the Sussex pair of Stephen Isaac and Manfred Tripp, who extinguished all local hopes in the men's singles.
Unwilling victims were Harold Minors and Randy Brangman. Isaac easily defeated Brangman 15-0, 15-2, while Tripp, who was born in South Africa, doused Minors 15-1, 15-5.
A chance for redemption arrives tonight as the Bermudians team up to face Tripp and Isaac in the men's doubles final. Yesterday had the former down Peter Zammit and Glyn Jones, while the latter got past David Wellman and Kenny Bremar 15-7, 15-3.
Number one seed Julie Durrant, an 11-8, 11-5 victor over Christine Barnes, will face Ailsa Campbell in the women's singles. Meanwhile, Barnes clawed her way past Claire Norbury 11-1, 11-6 in their encounter.
Challenging each other in the women's doubles final will be the teams of Angela Zammit and Sue Newell and Shonette Wilson and Claire Norbury.
SOCCER SOC Warwick Workmen's Club will hold a meeting on Monday at 5.45 p.m. for all those interesting in playing for the club.
