Join artists and singers on the Spirit

The Bermuda Sloop Foundation is offering a unique artistic experience on-board the Spirit of Bermuda as part of its latest fundraising effort.Next month, the Foundation will hold ‘Free Your Creative Spirit’, a special weekend-long cruise with painter Jaqueline Alma and musicians Heather Nova and Christina Frith.Over the course of the trip, the artists will lead workshops on drawing, creative writing, singing and drumming.A spokeswoman for the Foundation said: “You will enjoy gentle sailing in the Great Sound and evenings under the stars at anchor, while having the chance to unlock your creativity.“Find your singing voice, learn to draw, lose yourself in rhythm. You will discover how all this comes naturally when you are relaxed and connecting with the sea.”The spokeswoman said the three artists are donating their time and all of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Foundation’s goal of educating and enriching the lives of Bermuda’s young people. The event is the latest in the Foundation’s Save the Spirit campaign, launched in March in an effort to help fund the group’s five-day youth programmes on board the Spirit of Bermuda. So far the campaign has raised just under $1 million — a third of the charity’s $3 million goal. The trip will start at 9.30am on October 12 and conclude at 5pm on October 13. Only 15 places are available and tickets cost $895 per person with drink, food and snacks included.Useful website: www.bermudasloop.org
