Bermuda featured in airline magazine

Millions of travellers had the chance to read about Bermuda last month after it was featured in an airline magazine.

An article on the Island — timed to coincide with the 400th anniversary celebrations — ran in the June issue of British Airways' in-flight High Life publication.

The piece, written by Sarah Gilbert with photographs by Cedric Angeles, praised Bermuda as a "quiet escape".

High Life is carried on every BA aircraft in 69 countries and six continents, making it accessible to about 33 million passengers.

Six burglaries

Burglars broke into Whitney Institute Middle School and stole cash and food.

Police were told the theft took place overnight on Sunday after the culprits got into the gymnasium.

A second burglary took place over the weekend, at a construction site on Middle Road, Smith's. Tools were taken sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, jewellery was taken during a daytime break-in at a Morgan Road, Warwick house. Police are investigating all three crimes.

Burglars got away with a gold bracelet and cash from a house in Paget on Tuesday.

The break-in took place at a house in Chapel Road between 8.15 a.m. and 9.40 p.m.

A house on Harbour Road was broken into on Tuesday morning. Burglars stole an iPod, a 19 inch Sony flat screen television, a Nintendo Wii game system, a silver bracelet and cash.

Also on Tuesday, two houses in Middle Road, Southampton, were broken into. While nothing was stolen from one property, burglars took cash and alcohol from the other.
