Country and western bar planned

would be on the second floor of the E.R. Williams Building on Front Street, in space once used by the RAF club but now unoccupied.

The developer hopes to offer meals and drinks, plus live entertainment, billiard tables and games. These will be "in keeping'' with the anticipated Country and Western theme.

The pub could seat more than 200 people, according to plans.

The venture got a boost this week from Development Applications Board members, who gave it planning permission. The scheme will also need a building permit.

The plan is by ADM Ltd, and the applicant is Mr. Andrew Lewis.

Board members turned down a plan by Mr. Voorhees Lightbourne to set up a video arcade at the Bargain Centre, on the corner of Court Street and Elliott Street.

The plan, for internal alterations, was rejected due to lack of information.
