Thieves have been stealing masses of crops from farmers and handing them on to restaurants.

The practice of ‘night farming’ has been stepped up in recent months with some offenders said to be filling trucks with fruit and vegetables as a possible knock-on effect of the economic crisis.

At a press conference today, Environment Minister Glenn Blakeney and farmer Tom Wadson verbally attacked the criminals and urged the public to be vigilant.
