The Kimberley Kollege Kindergarten is planning a revamp at its Smith's Parish location.

It is applying for permission to move out of the cottage it occupies at Verdmont Road and build a new day care centre for 24 children elsewhere on the site.

The cottage, which has housed the kindergarten for 12 years, would then be renovated into a three-bedroom home.

The plan involves the removal of mature trees but Context architects said the children would have plenty of play space.

The kindergarten has been an integral part of the neighbourhood for 30 years according to the application submitted to Government's Planning Department.
