Horseman completes karting clean sweep

Junior Stock Clone Class (10-15 yrs) driver Blake Horseman completed the sweep during the last round of karting at Southside Raceway.The 11-year old Mount St Agnes student simply blew away the competition, winning all three heats to keep the pressure on points leader Owen DeCosta.DeCosta, who posted three podium finishes on the day, currently tops the Junior Stock Clone Class (10-15 yrs) points standings by 24 points over nearest rival Horseman. In third is Corey Lewis who also managed three podium displays on the day that included two seconds.Elsewhere, David Barbosa closed the gap on TAG Senior Class points leader Scott Barnes.Barbosa posted two seconds and a first to move to within 14 points of Barnes who managed two first and a fourth on the day.Stephen Corrado also did his championship hopes no harm after producing two podium displays. As it stands, 85 points separates leader Barnes from third placed Corrado.Barnes also lost precious ground in the 125cc Shifter Class which he presently leads by 77 points over nearest rival Corrado.The points leader managed only one podium display and Corrado took full advantage by posting three podium finishes that included a win in the first heat in his respective class.Top driver on the day in the 125cc Shifter Class was John Carreiro Jr who posted two firsts and a second to cap a memorable day at the track.Ryan Lopes and Ryan Burgess were the only drivers competing in the Junior Modified Clone Class (10-15 yrs) and Junior Stock Clone Class (7-10 yrs) classes.Karting resumes February 20 at Southside Raceway.
