Fry-Angles `go to Peru'

Collecting in Peru -- a public lecture by president of the Bermuda Fly-Angle Aquarium Society, Craig Morfitt.

The lecture starts at 7.30 p.m. at the Lecture Theatre, Stonington Campus.

*** The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme will be holding a general meeting on Tuesday, September 17 at 5.30 p.m. in the board room of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Recreation.

The meeting will discuss, among other things, the 1996 Gold Award expedition in Tobago and the 1997 expedition to St. Lucia.

It is open to all who are interested in the scheme in Bermuda, or learning more about it.

The Award Scheme is a programme of leisure time and activities for young adults between the ages of 14 and 25.

*** All members of the public are invited to attend a free public forum on Women's issues with visiting expert on Education Lynn Hecht-Schafran from the US.

She will address the issue of "Women Families and Justice'' and following the floor will be open to questions from the audience.

The director of the National Judicial Education Programme with the National Organisation for Women Legal Defence and Education Fund in New York, Ms Schafran has worked for more than 15 years to eradicate gender bias in the courts.

She is also considered by many in the US to be a leading expert and educator on issues that concern women in law.

The forum will be opened by Legislative Affairs and Women's Issues Minister Lynda Milligan-Whyte, will be held on Thursday at St. Paul's AME Centennial Hall, beginning at 7.30 p.m.
