The 29-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries when she collided with a utility pole near Five Star Island on Middle Road in Southampton, at about 1.45 p.m.

She was listed in stable condition yesterday in the intensive care unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A 44-year old Hamilton Parish motorcyclist sustained a fractured jaw and shoulder injuries after a collision with a car.

Police reported that the accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on North Shore Road in Hamilton near the Railway Museum.

A person driving a Ford Laser is believed to have been overtaking the man, who was riding a cycle, when the accident occurred. The car driver has been taken into custody while enquiries continue.
