Fan violence caused a football match in St. David's to be abandoned yesterday, after bottles were thrown and scuffles broke out.
Referee Antoine Augustus decided not to allow play to restart in the First Division match between St. David's and Paget Lions at Lords, after trouble flared up among spectators during the half-time interval.
One match official, who didn't wish to be named, told The Royal Gazette: "We had to stop the game, there was just too much foolishness going on out there. Bottles were breaking and then there were idiots shouting 'I'm a gangster'."
According to witnesses, no one was injured in the incident.
