Two New Yorkers who returned a British couple's video camera before they left on a vacation to Bermuda have been rewarded with their own Bermuda trip.

Matt Cronin and Paolo Andino raced around the city for four hours to locate Len and Jill Nobbs, who had left their camera in the back seat of a cab in Midtown.

Managing director of LookBermuda, Jean-Pierre Rouja said last night: “I was watching the news on Tuesday evening on which I saw the feature regarding the NBC coverage of this story and decided that it would be nice to reward the New Yorkers for effectively having enhanced two of our visitor's Bermuda vacation by returning the camera.”

He added that it was worth rewarding their “Bermudian-like” qualities.

Mr. Rouja began sending out e-mails to see what sort of award package could be put together for the two vacation-savers.

The prize package came together in about 24 hours, he said.

The package includes round trip airfares courtesy of USA 3000, three nights at Elbow Beach Hotel in a deluxe room with breakfast, dinner for two at Barracuda Grill, lunch for two at Lemon Tree Cafe, sightseeing tours and a host of other prizes.

Mr. Rouja said that the prize for the two New Yorkers courtesy of Bermuda has been picked up by NBC and the New York Post.

He added: “It was great the way that everyone supported it (prize) and how quickly it got put together.”

According to the New York Post, Mr. Cronin, vice president of marketing for Calvin Klein, and Mr. Andino, an actor, found the camera shortly after the Nobbses lost it and then taped themselves as they followed clues to the owners' whereabouts on August 28.

They finally traced the couple to their Bermuda-bound cruise ship docked on the Hudson River. The Nobbses were perplexed when they found the camera in their cabin and only realised what had happened when they reviewed the tape and saw Mr. Cronin and Mr. Andino on it.
