In the first incident, Police were called on Monday afternoon to a report of a break-in at a residence on Radnor Road in Hamilton Parish.

The offence apparently occurred on Sunday night.

A resident discovered the items missing around noon the following day and contacted Police.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the culprit got away with a Sharp CD player, clothing and various items of jewellery.

Also, a Park View Lane, Devonshire residence was broken into.

The resident told Police that her sister had visited her home just before 5 p.m. on Monday and found the back door of the house wide open.

The bedroom had been ransacked and the refrigerator door was also left open. A bottle of juice, engraved gold wedding bands, and a gold ring with a pale blue birth stone with diamonds were stolen. A pinkie gold ring with a pale blue stone, and a gold thin chain with a gold heart containing the words "I love you'' were also taken.

A volunteer Women's Auxiliary worker also reported to Police the theft of an undisclosed quantity of cash on Monday.

The woman said she was counting cash at the information desk situated outside of the hospital cafeteria when she was approached by a man.

He asked about a patient and while the woman was checking, the man snatched the cash from the top of the desk and ran off.

The man was described as light-brown skinned, with short hair, wearing long dark pants, and a white short-sleeved shirt with diagonal stripes.

Police were called to a St. John's Road, Pembroke, home after a resident reported someone entered his home while he slept and made off with a 20-inch Sharp television.

The thief apparently entered the premises through an unsecured door sometime between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and walked off with the television. Anyone who can assist with the enquiry is asked to contact P.c. Whitfield Nurse at the Hamilton Police station at 295-0011.
