BIFF 2010 kicks off
More than 25 directors, producers and actors will attend the 2010 edition of Bermuda International Film Festival, which starts rolling tonight.
Narrative feature and documentary feature filmmakers in attendance will be directors Igor Sterk, '9:06', Robert Patton-Spruill, 'Do It Again', Kathy Lindboe, 'NONAMES', Manuel Concha, 'Manana', Peter Raymont, 'Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould', Ole Schell and Sara Ziff, 'Picture Me', Kierston Chace, 'I'm Not Black, I'm Coloured Identity Crisis at the Cape of Good Hope', and Christian Suau and Ramiro Milan, 'Oso Blanco/White Bear'.
Feature producers include Robin Van Ert, 'NONAMES', and Jeremiah Hayes, 'Reel Injun'. Actor Peter McCain, 'NONAMES', cinematographer William Diedericks, 'I'm Not Black, I'm Coloured Identity Crisis at the Cape of Good Hope' and featured participant Meade Palidofsky, 'Girls on the Wall', are also coming.
Short filmmakers include director Neil Leifer, 'Dark Light: The Art of Blind Photography', Jeremy Siefert, 'Dive' and Yariv Barel and Mor Kaplensky, 'Vlog', and producer Karen Dressner 'Dark Light: The Art of Blind Photography'.
Local filmmakers Andrew Stevenson 'Where the Whales Sing', Bayard Outerbridge 'Face of the Rock: The Story of Artist Trevor Todd', Ben Watson and J-P Rouja 'The Riddle of the Crest', Choy Aming 'A Tiger's Tale' and Robert Zuill 'Lions of the Sea, Tragedy of the Mauis' will be on hand, also, to introduce their films and participate in Q&A sessions.
Also in attendance at BIFF are Peter Rainer of 'National Public Radio, US', Nick Roddick 'Split Screen, UK', Emmanuel Itier 'Book LA, Buzzine, U.S.' and David Poland, editor in chief of the online film sites Movie City News and thehotbutton.com.
BIFF's opening night film, '9:06', will be introduced by director Igor Sterk and, after the film, the Q&A will be moderated by Nick Roddick.
Altogether BIFF 2010 features 102 films from 42 countries. The films screen at four theatres Southside, Liberty, Speciality and Tradewinds Auditorium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute until March 25.
