You can take a deep look into the waters surrounding Bermuda tonight as a film that highlights local coral reefs and shipwrecks will be shown on television.

The film, ?Keepers of the Reef?, is one of a series of films produced by the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) and the New England Aquarium.

The series is called ?World of Water Films?.

The programme is narrated by Peter Benchley, BUEI international advisor and author of ?Jaws? and ?The Deep?. It will air at 8 p.m. on TV 9.

The programme explores ?human induced and natural changes in coral reefs using historic shipwrecks as markers in time,? according to a press release.

?Primarily shot in Bermuda, the film highlights Bermudian underwater explorer Teddy Tucker and covers coral reefs and the threats facing them world wide.?

?World of Water Films? are distributed worldwide to aquariums, zoos, museums and science centres and are seen by 13 million people annually.

Since the production of ?Keepers of the Reef? in 1999, it has received seven international awards.
