BELCO crews are to first target key areas which will bring the maximum return as they seek to bring power back to 6,900 outage-hit customers.

And the power company is urging those still in the dark to call 955 if their complaint has not yet been registered.

Today's target list includes Marsh Folly Road, Sommersall Road, Broken Hill, Radnor Road, Wellington Slip and Back Road, Tee Street, Harbour Road/Highwood area, Pearman Hill, Jones Village, Lusher Hill, Warwick Drive, East Shore, Sound View, Hightime Drive, Tamarind Vale, Paddock Drive and Paddock Lane.

Spokeswoman Linda Smith-Wilson said: "Other areas will be prepared for crews to enter within next day or two."

She denied rumours that BELCO were running short of materials but said wire due to be flown in at the weekend was bumped off the plane.

"There's no immediate impact from this but BELCO will stay on top of it.

"The wire will last us a while but we don't want it getting bumped off."

As of last night crews in the east BELCO had restored the circuit from John Smith's Bay to Long Lane including Hexham Drive and Glebe Hill.

Other restored areas included South Breakers where the main line is on and Shaw Hills, St. George's.

Partially restored areas include Ferry Reach and Somersall Road. Work is continuing at Arrowroot and Spanish Heights.

BELCO were hoping to get back Fairylands and Point Shares, Pembroke and Rocky Lane, Devonshire Bay last night.

To be rescheduled are Vesey Street, Spanish Point and Parsons Lane. Work is continuing on Dudley Hill and Devon Heights and is expected to carry over today.

In the west BELCO was hoping to get the following areas back on line last night: Church Hill, Somerset, St. James Church, Somerset, Daniel's Head Road, Greenfield Lane/ West Side Road, Bob's Valley, Granaway Heights, Southampton Estate, Coral Acres, Hill Top, Khyber Heights and St. Anne's Road. But South Road/Mermaid Beach will carry over to today.
