Bromby blitzes race fleet
Local sailors Peter Bromby and Martin Siese blitzed the fleet at the Biscayne Trophy regatta in Miami, Florida over the weekend.
The Island pair finished the event at the Coral Reef Yacht Club with three first places, one second and a seventh - the latter being dropped.
Speaking from the US, Bromby, now sponsored by ACE and who had help in shipping his boat from Bermuda Container Lines, said: "It went excellently. We had three races (on Saturday) and won all three of them which put us into a commanding spot going into today (Sunday).
"Today we had a seventh in the first race and a second in the final race out of 42 boats."
Bromby said the competition was extremely keen.
"Given the competition that is here we were expected to be as competitive as any of them but we actually dominated this regatta like I don't think we have ever dominated a regatta before," he said.
