A man has been jailed for five years for having sex with a girl aged under 14.

Ronald Kirkland Simmons, 25, is said to have committed the offence last year. He subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge.

Puisne Justice Carlisle Greaves sentenced the father-of-two after hearing that he has previous convictions for wilful damage, using offensive words in a public place and cheque fraud.
