Two men this morning pleaded guilty to importing cannabis valued at more than $800,000 into Bermuda.

Kyle Ingham, 25, and Kenneth Butterfield, 33, were due to stand trial for conspiring to import cannabis on between dates unknown and November 2, 2008, with Dennis Wright and “persons unknown”.

The defendants denied a charge of conspiracy and Crown counsel Robert Welling asked for the charge to lie on file.

Ingham and Butterfield were remanded into custody and will be sentenced at the December arraignments.

Wright did not appear for trial and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
