Police arrest woman for suspected impaired riding

A woman caught driving her motorcycle without headlights was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old, from Pembroke, was stopped at 11.45 p.m. after Police saw her driving with no lights and her helmet unfastened.

A Police spokesman said: "As a result Police pulled her over and it was at that time officers smelled intoxicants on her breath and her eyes were glazed over. She was also unsteady on her feet.

"She was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where she refused to give a sample of her breath for analysis."

The woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Bermuda Police Service advises people to keep their doors and windows locked, and to lock all purchases in the trunk out of sight. A spokesman added: "When approaching and leaving your vehicle, always be aware of your surroundings. Do not approach the car alone if there are suspicious people standing by."
