Pedestrians robbed overnight Thursday

Two men were attacked and robbed of their wallets and phones in separate late night incidents.A 27-year-old man ran out of gas on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke at 10 p.m. on Thursday and was walking to Hamilton when four teenagers jumped him. The Devonshire man who defended himself with his helmet was stabbed and robbed of the wallet and two cellphones.Prior to the attack the man had flagged down a member of the public who had gone to collect some gas, this individual returned to find the man injured. The Devonshire man proceeded to go to the hospital and Police were called. He sustained a laceration to the top of his head and a wound to his elbow.

The four young men were described as approximately 18 years old; one was dark skinned, short, wearing a red hooded top with the hood over his head; two were taller than the first, wearing black bandanas and grey hooded tops with the hoods up while the fourth was wearing a red bandana and a baseball cap.

Police were called to another robbery at 3.50 a.m. yesterday. A 31-year-old Pembroke man was walking west along Serpentine Road when two unknown men on a motorcycle approached him and began hitting him with their helmets.

They took his wallet and Blackberry cellular phone before leaving on a motorcycle. The suspects are described as two dark skinned males riding a motorcycle. The victim sustained abrasions to fingers on his left hand and several blows to the head; he declined medical attention.

Inquiries into both incidents are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
