driver who reported someone had stolen a box of carrots from the back of his truck.

The driver told Police he was delivering a load of vegetables to a grocery store between 9.30 and 9.45 a.m. and went inside to sort out some paper work, leaving the stock briefly unattended.

While inside, a member of the public said he saw a man wearing a white helmet and dark blue clothing jump in the rear of the truck and remove a box of carrots.

The witness said the culprit, on a black Honda motorcycle, then headed east on South Shore Road towards Hamilton. The witness was able to furnish Police a licence number and investigations are continuing.
