St. George's to hold a town meeting
enders on the status of activities related to the town's heritage plan.
The public is invited to attend at Penno's Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal at 7 p.m.
The project incorporates a heritage-based strategic plan that examines methods to improve the urban design standards of the town while improving and enhancing its historic character.
Significant progress has been made in implementing some of the plan objectives, including the construction of town gateways, an increase in the amount of heritage-based activities, the commencement of a major archeological dig, the creation of a St. George's Foundation, the twinning of St. George's and Lyme Regis, and the scheduling of new street paving projects.
Speakers will include St. George's Mayor Henry Hayward; Lance Furbert, Curator of Forts; Dr. Edward Harris, Director of the Bermuda Maritime Museum and Michael Jarvis of William and Mary College.
