Transport Control department director Donald Dane said Howard Burnell Cross would have to go before the Public Service Vehicle Licensing Board to drive a taxi again.

Cross' licence expired at the end of January and was not renewed before the trial.

The man had been at the Hamilton Parish Workman's Club earlier that evening when he met the suspect.

At approximately 6.30 p.m., the two were at Abbot's Cliff Road when the suspect suddenly snatched the victim's wallet pushing him to the ground.
