Festival gives you the chance to enjoy some art in the park
The Grand Art Festival has seen over 120 entries.
The Grand Art Festival is organised by Butterfield Bank in collaboration with Masterworks. It is entitled ?Bermuda ? a Beauty in Danger? and will showcase pieces of art from local amateur and professional artists tomorrow from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Aside from the art there will be live music and lots of fun things to do.
It will take place at the Masterworks Museum of Art in the Botanical Gardens.
The festival has a range of family activities and entertainment planned.
All visitors can participate in choosing the ?People?s Choice? award and a new t-shirt painting activity means you can take away and wear your very own masterpiece.
Professional artists will be competing on site for the Quick Art Competition and there will be non-stop live entertainment and food.
At 4 p.m. Premier Alex Scott will attend the festival with Butterfield Bank president and chief executive officer, Alan Thompson, to award the winners of the Judge?s Choice, People?s Choice and Quick Art Competition.
?We are really excited about the festival, which shines a light on Bermudian artistic talent and promises great fun for the whole family,? said Mr. Thompson.
?We are very pleased to be supporting an event that allows our community to enjoy Bermudian art and join in the fun. I would like to thank our partner, Masterworks, for all their help and support in organising this wonderful event.?
Director of Masterworks Tom Butterfield said the park was a beautiful setting in which to celebrate the beauty of our Island home and the talent that flourishes here.
?We will have a breathtaking array of original art on show, which provides some insightful, eye-catching and original perspectives on the theme of ?Bermuda ? a Beauty in Danger?,? Mr. Butterfield said.
