The incident occurred just after midnight on North Shore Road, when one man out of a group of about six or seven men stepped from the curbside and pulled the visitor from the cycle.

All began kicking him about the body and he suffered bruising to his shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.

The attackers got away with a wallet containing cash, the rental cycle, several items of jewellry, and a camera.

After he regained consciousness, the man walked east along North Shore until he was given a ride to his guest house by a motorist.

There was also a strange robbery early Friday morning, when a teenager wrestled a knife from an intruder while his brother watched but did not tell their parents until later.

The 13-year-old told Police he awoke around 2.30 a.m. to find a male intruder in his bedroom and threatening him with a knife. The intruder escaped.

Police said they were called to the Wilson Place, Sandys home later that morning.
