Police have released on Police bail the second man arrested in connection with last week's murder of George Kelly .

The 21-year-old Devonshire man was released on Monday, the same day that 22-year-old Gernel Darrell appeared in Magistrates' Court and was charged with murder. But Police would not reveal whether they plan to press any charges against the bailed man.

Under the law, Police are not allowed to hold a person for more than 72 hours without charging them but the man can be called in for further questioning and must adhere to strict reporting requirements.

At his appearance in court on Monday, Darrell was not required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable and will be tried in the Supreme Court. He was also remanded in custody as a person charged with murder cannot apply for bail.

The body of George Kelly was discovered early on Friday morning and he was believed to have been murdered sometime on Thursday night.

He was discovered lying in a car park next to the Silver Spoon Cafe on Victoria Street and was clutching a screw driver in his hand.

Mr. Kelly was one of seven siblings and his brother had explained that a drinking problem had driven him to life on the streets.

It was incorrectly reported in Tuesday's edition of The Royal Gazette that Mr. Kelly's son was 22 years old. He is actually 25 years old.
