CableVision’s Video-on-Demand expands to Southampton, Warwick

Bermuda CableVision customers in Southampton and Warwick now have access to the company’s new Video-on-Demand (VOD) service.The service launched in early October in Somerset and has been rolled out parish-by-parish, moving from West to East.CableVision customers will find the new VOD service on Channel 500, which the company says includes a vast library of movies, shows and events that customers can browse and access whenever they want.Viewers can also choose from a wide selection of programming that includes both free and pay-per-view content. Prices for pay-per-view content start at $2.99. Categories include: new releases, HD (and soon) 3D movies, ‘Free For Kids’ content, events like UFC and boxing and Premium channel programming from Showtime and TMC. There is also a free Karaoke channel as well as free sports programming.Viewers are also able to pause, rewind and fast-forward the VOD programming they are watching.The VOD service works with any of the digital set-top boxes currently in customers’ homes and will be added to customers’ service without the need for a service call or hook up. It will eventually be available to all CableVision subscribers island wide and does not require internet service or a monthly subscription.Customers interested in purchasing programming from the VOD channel do however, need to visit the company’s website (www.cablevision.bm) or Customer Care Centre in the Washington Mall to register for a confidential PIN number. This number protects customers from unauthorised use of their account. Customers will receive an itemised listing of their VOD purchases on their monthly statements.
