The unnamed officer was suspended on full pay following his arrest on February 14.

Police last month said they had completed a criminal investigation into the matter and had forwarded a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

At that time they said: "The internal investigation is nearing completion and an internal disciplinary hearing, chaired by a senior officer, will be held shortly. The senior officer has not yet been named.'' In a two-line release from the Police they revealed that the file has still not gone to the DPP.

The release of last week read: "A file is currently being prepared for review by the Director of Public Prosecutions pertaining to the allegations of drug use by a Police officer.

PORPIGLIA A NUISANCE CTS Porpiglia a nuisance' Local resident Santo Porpiglia has filed so many law suits that he has become a nuisance to the Supreme Court Registry and forced Attorney General Dame Lois Browne Evans to declare him a "vexatious litigant''.

Mr. Porpiglia of Southampton has been filing suits against the Bermuda Building Society, a former mortgage finance company, since 1996.

The actions began after the company sold a property in St. George's that Mr.

Porpiglia had failed to meet his mortgage payments on.

He has also tried to sue the realtor who handled the sale, Shaun Pedro; the lawyer who handled the legal aspects of the sale, Christopher LaVigne; and law firm Conyers Dill and Pearman which was also involved in the sale.

Dame Lois said the action was a last resort.

"He's been a nuisance around the court registrar's office,'' she said.

"They brought it to our attention and asked if there was anything we could do to stop it. We hate to take civil actions against people so I did have a lawyer in the office write him a letter last month asking him to stop,'' she continued.

"We thought he might have taken note of a direct message from a person in authority, but he did not. So we have proceeded with action and filed a writ.'' Dame Lois explained that she will not be seeking any monetary damages against Mr. Porpiglia.

"We just need a court order that he desist from filing these suits,'' she said.
