Stephen Rossiter, 28, was admitted at a special hearing in Supreme Court before Acting Justice Patricia Dangor.

Mr. Rossiter served in the Police force from 1984 to 1987. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1990 with a B.A. in Criminology and Sociology, then studied law at the University of Canterbury in England, graduating with an LL.B. in 1993.

He studied for his professional exams at the School of Law in York before joining Conyers, Dill and Pearman, specialising in corporate law.

Also admitted to the bar was Karen Pettifer -- her third such ceremony in her legal career.

Canadian Ms. Pettifer, already a member of the bar in Ontario and Alberta, added the right to plead in Bermuda to her legal honours.

Ms. Pettifer, 37, graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

She arrived in Bermuda two years ago after completing a two-year sailing trip around the Atlantic with husband John.

She worked for Marshall and Co. until recently and is now with the Kuan Yin Group, an exempt company based on the Island.
