Flat screen TVs stolen

Flat screen televisions a camera and cash were stolen in three burglaries on Friday and Saturday.

Between 7.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Friday, thieves broke into a home on the Railway Trail, Paget, and took a black 42-inch Sony television and cash.

Between 8.30 a.m. and 6.20 p.m. the same day, offenders took a 42-inch flat screen TV and red Nikon digital camera from a home in White Sands Road, Paget.

And between 10 p.m. on Friday and 7.30 a.m. on Saturday, cash and personal items were stolen from an address at Lighthouse Road, Southampton.

Police did not say if the incidents were linked. Witnesses should call Police on 295-0011 or the anonymous CrimeStoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477.

Seniors' week postponed

Seniors' Week has been postponed due to expected bad weather.

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs announced the activities — initially set to run from today until Thursday — will be rescheduled for a later date.

Two crash cars

Two drivers smashed their cars into walls over the weekend, but escaped injury.

At 4.15 a.m. on Saturday, a 41-year-old St. George's man lost control of his S.U.V. and hit a wall on Knapton Hill, Smith's, near its junction with Cherry Dale.

At 12.15 a.m. yesterday, an 18-year-old Warwick man ploughed into a wall and wooden railing after losing control on Middle Road, Southampton, near Five Star Island. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
