British Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife Cherie arrives in Bermuda today for her fourth visit to the Island in two years.

It is understood Mrs. Blair, who will be accompanied by her children and her mother, is here purely for an Easter holiday and has no engagements scheduled.

As in previous visits, she will be staying at Government House.

Her use of Government House ? allowing her a cut-price stay ? has attracted controversy in Britain in the past with tabloid newspapers and politicians questioning why the taxpayer should subsidise her private trips.

Barrister Mrs. Blair has stayed at Government House for around $50 a night.

Mrs. Blair, who is representing businessman Harold Darrell in his race discrimination case against Bank of Bermuda, first visited the Island in April, 2002.

Although she was here for business representing Mr. Darrell, former Premier Jennifer Smith threw a party for her at Camden, leading the Mail on Sunday newspaper to dub the Prime Minister's wife 'Queen of Bermuda'.

She returned in October, 2002 as a speaker at the Women in Public Life conference.

And she was on the Island in May last year for a five-night holiday which she combined with a speech to Bermuda Bar Association.

When asked about Mrs. Blair's visit yesterday, Deputy Governor Nick Carter said: "No comment."
