FIRST DIVISION ROAD-UP
St. David's 3 BAA 2
It was a struggle for the First Division title contenders against a team in the lower half of the table as they were expected to win with relative ease.
But the Greens put up a fight, scoring first and leaving it for the home side to deliver what proved to be the winning goal through Aaron Crockwell after 75 minutes.
Maximum points saw the Islanders move into second place ahead of idle St. George's Colts.
BAA took a 1-0 lead through Antwon Lugo after 20 minutes only to see goals by Crockwell and Angelo Cannonier put St. David's ahead before the break. Despite BAA's determination, the East Enders stretched their lead to 3-1 with Crockwell's third goal but BAA kep it close with Shane Morrisey netting their second after 78 minutes.
Paget Lions 0 Social Club 4
At White Hill Field, Social Club scored all four goals in the second half to take maximum points from their hosts.
Shervin Jenings stormed through the middle to put Social ahead just after play restarted and after that breakthrough the Bluebirds took full control.
Marvin Iris followed with two goals, these strikes sandwiched between several misses by the same player. Mike Smith netted a fine header to complete the scoring.
Propect United 1 Somerset 2
Somerset Trojans remain six points behind the second automatice promotion spot after this 2-1 victory over Prospect at Police Field.
Goals from skipper Jelani Scott and Adrian Burrows paced the West End side while Jacobi Darrell scored for Propect.
Cofield Robinson had a chance to put the visitors in front from the penalty spot in the first half, but squandered his opportunity as the sides remained deadlocked. Scott got the ball rolling in the second half as he didn't make any mistake from the spot, and Burrows doubled the lead shortly after Scott's goal.
Darrell pulled a goal back for the hosts, who went chasing the game but to no avail.
Elsewhere, Somerset Eagles were knocked off the top of the First Division standings after being held to a scoreless draw at White Hill Field by visiting X'Road Warriors.
At Malabar, the match between home side Ireland Rangers against Wolves failed to get underway when the latter failed to produce player registration cards.
