Devonshire Cougars 7 Hamilton Parish 2

Cougars last night went about settling matters regarding the Daihatsu Second Division championship.

The issue was settled well before the final whistle as the home side totally demolished a disjointed Hamilton Parish outfit 7-2 in a match that took on comic proportions towards the end.

Parish's first mistake was arriving at the Den without a full compliment of players...the other was to take the pitch regardless.

In the end Parish's two goals were flattering as they were outplayed in every department.

Skipper Shawn Smith led the way for Cougars with two goals, including the seventh with a neat back-heel that brought the always vocal fans behind the fence to their feet.

Prior to that, a double strike from Troy Burgess and one apiece from Preston Mallory, Dwayne Bean and Kenneth Swan had served to place Parish firmly on the rack.

Johnny Nusum and Ernest Latham accounted for Parish's output, but all in vain as their attack was left toothless once striker Antwon Darrell had limped off with a groin strain.

Somerset captured the Premier Division Knockout championship with a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the curtain raiser. Kwame Tucker, Jerrel Tucker and Keion Simmons scored for Somerset while Jamel Robinson and Jahma Charles replied for PHC.
