It details the 415-acre property's industrial land, residential areas, corporate office sites, development lots, open space and nature parks.

BLDC communications manager Don Grearson said the brochure was a teaser aimed at alerting people to the business possibilities that the former naval base at St. David's offered.

In particular it focused on the industrial land and its "business enterprise zone'', he said.

Each booklet was accompanied by a letter drawing attention to the fact that the BLDC properties were available at significantly lower rates than those found in Hamilton.

"Southside can offer your business outstanding savings with rents in our newly renovated offices up to fifty percent below comparable buildings in Hamilton,'' it reads.

"The BLDC is prepared to contribute capital to build or renovate to suite your needs or to joint venture with you on a new building opportunity.'' "Southside may be the opportunity for your business to improve its working environment, reduce its operating costs and secure a prime location in an area that promises to become a new centre of commercial and community life.'' The leasing opportunities include Channel House, Corregidor House, Lilyfield Place and an industrial building that is being relocated from the Clearwater Beach area to the Southside industrial sector, Mr. Grearson said.

Channel House was under renovation and expected to be ready for tenants during the summer months.
