being shot on location in Bermuda.

Members of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) are on the Island to shoot a video that will be available worldwide for divers and instructors.

The team, led by producer Mr. Ken Berry, is using actors to help shoot the video which centres on the shipwrecks scattered in the waters around the Island.

"There are several places in the world considered to be top shipwreck diving places and Bermuda is one of those,'' said Mr. Berry.

He added: "Bermuda, though, is the only one of those places that has shallow water which makes it an ideal place to shoot a video.'' Actors first rehearse their roles on the boat, but when they are below surface there is also a laminated story board in case they forget their `lines'.

The film has several aims: how to go inside a wreck safely and getting the message across that divers can swim over the wreck and do not necessarily have to go inside.

It also aims to teach how to map and navigate a wreck and how easy it can be to get into trouble and how with proper training it can be avoided.

The film will be called `Wreck Diving' and will be available for divers at PADI centres worldwide. The team is also compiling a tape which will be for instructors and some photographs for a manual accompanying the video.

"We are filming all over Bermuda and we've come here because of the variety of the wrecks and the clarity of the water,'' added Mr. Berry, who has come from California, PADI's headquarters.

The team is working in conjunction with Bermuda-based Nautilus Diving and is on the Island for a total of 11 days, leaving on Friday.

"We are shooting scenes, setting up different types of scenarios, using actors, underwater lighting and broadcast quality video,'' said Mr. Berry.
