Breaking News: Telemaque appointed acting head of civil service

Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque will be the temporary head of the civil service when Kenneth Dill retires, it was announced this morning.

Mr. Dill is to step down from his post as head of the civil service on September 21, almost 18 months after Premier Ewart Brown tried unsuccessfully to manoeuvre him into early retirement.

This morning a statement from Government House said: “On the advice of the Premier, Dr. Ewart Brown, and after informal consultation with the chairman of the Public Service Commission, the Governor of Bermuda announces that Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque will assume the role of acting head of the Civil Service on the retirement this month of Kenneth Dill.

“A substantive appointment is expected before the end of the 2010.”
