$110,000 workforce consultant now wanted by Government
A consultant is being sought for Government's workforce development initiative.
The Department of Labour and Training is advertising for a $110,000-a-year project manager to provide overall leadership and management to set up the system designed to deal with employment issues.
At a previous press conference, Premier Ewart Brown has said the initiative includes a number of projects such as reforming the education system and Goodwill Plus, which will force companies to train Bermudians to get work permits for foreigners. Further details were unavailable yesterday.
According to an advert in the Bermuda Sun, the new consultant will work closely with the "Workforce Advisory Committee" and "appropriate consultants".
The post will be for one year, with a possible extension for a further 12 months, and will involve liaising with business and industry leaders, governing boards, education leaders, Government agencies, community groups and the public.
